How my journey began

Hi! I am Alison Nobrega, a therapist based in San Diego supporting millennial working women and mothers navigate unhealthy boundaries, patterns, and systems in the workplace.

As a therapist, a working mother and woman, I know firsthand the lack of systemic support in the workplace and the challenges women and mothers face when it comes to navigating these parts of our identities.

I am passionate about working with women and mothers who are experiencing imposter syndrome, burnout, and perfectionism among other mental health challenges to support them in their overall emotional health and well-being.

I bring a holistic approach to what it means to be a working professional and truly believe it's necessary for clients to have access to the mental health tools and support to navigate the many systemic challenges of faced on a daily basis.

I am continuously challenging what it means to seek out support and am dedicated to destigmatizing mental health in order to normalize and create a space where folx can talk openly about their challenges and seek the support that is unique to them.

When working with clients, I use a trauma-informed lens rooted in systems theory. I use a variety of interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindful-based interventions, attachment-based interventions, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

My therapeutic approach is genuine, direct, strengths-based, humorous (yes we are going to laugh together in therapy) culturally competent, and non-judgmental. I will HYPE you up to set those boundaries and identify those unhelpful patterns!

I believe in meeting clients where they are at, and using a client-centered approach so that clients can identify unhelpful thought patterns, and behaviors in order to heal, grow and develop the skills to thrive.

I always welcome feedback so that you are feeling supported and receiving the help that is unique to your and your specific needs. You are the expert of your life, and it is a privilege to support you on your journey.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received my Master’s in Social Work from New York University. I bring over 10 years of experience working with clients.
